The Pope’s Pastoral Works

Next weekend, May 4-5, we will take up a second collection for the Pope’s Pastoral Works. This collection was established by the bishops of Canada in 1970. The Papal Charities allow the Pope to contribute to various charitable causes around the world, particularly toward aiding the victims of war, famine and natural disasters. The Pope's Pastoral Works displays Christ's love and compassion for people in desperate need. By contributing to this collection, the faithful of Canada give a universal dimension to their charity. Envelopes for this purpose are at the entrance of the church!
